3D scanning scheme of interior space

    The origin of motor racing has a history of more than 100 years. More and more attention has been paid to the safety of drivers. Entrusted by a well-known racing company, Hualang 3D optimized the safety of racing cars. After knowing the actual situation, Hualang 3D engineers used the 3D scanner hl-3dw to trace the internal space of the car and the engine compartment, and installed roll cage and engine protection devices to improve the safety of the car.

Practical problem

1. The data acquisition density of traditional measurement methods is not enough (the amount of data is insufficient), and the surface and radian of the car interior can not be measured. In the later stage, it can not be tested normally and can not be reverse mapped.

2. Scan the internal space of the car, obtain the internal space data of the car, and design a more reasonable roll cage. The car body is 4.5m long, 2.3m wide and 1.7m high. Generally, the scanning format of the three-dimensional scanner is small. During scanning, the cumulative scanning format is too large. There are problems such as unable to find the mark points and poor splicing. There are many problems, such as heavy workload, low work efficiency and the accuracy of the obtained data can not meet the requirements.

    When installing the roll cage, it is connected or welded one by one according to the internal contour of the carriage. The professionally installed roll cage can not only cope with unexpected situations, but also enhance the strength and anti twist of the vehicle body. The protection device is designed for the engine, so that the engine will not be squeezed too much when the car rolls, resulting in the car explosion and major accidents.
1. Preliminary preparation

2. 3D scanning
Hualang 3D engineers use the 3D scanner (hl-3dw) to obtain the interior space and engine compartment data of the vehicle.
The 3D scanner (hl-3dw) has:
● large scanning format: it can quickly obtain the data of the interior space and engine compartment, and reduce the splicing error.
● portable design: easy to take to the measurement site.
● extremely fast scanning speed: millions of data points can be obtained within 3-5 seconds, and it only takes 2 hours to obtain the internal data of the car and the engine compartment data.
● high accuracy: the single scanning accuracy can reach ≤± 0.025mm, the spatial data inside the vehicle can reach 0.15mm, and the data accuracy of the engine compartment can reach 0.1mm, meeting the requirements of subsequent development and design.

    In the optimization scheme for the safety of racing cars, the solutions provided by Hualang 3D effectively assisted the racing team, further strengthened the safety performance of racing cars and shortened the development cycle.
