Three-dimensional scanning applied to touring car modification

2021-07-30 A+ A A-

With the improvement of the quality of life, the application of RVs is becoming more and more popular. Hualang 3D was invited by a RV modification company to scan the Iveco front to obtain 3D data and formulate a better modification plan. After understanding the actual situation, Hualang 3D technical engineers used the 3D scanner HL-3DS+ to quickly obtain 3D data of the RV and improve the efficiency of the modification.

Practical problems

The traditional measurement method has insufficient data collection density (insufficient data amount) and cannot accurately measure the curved surface and arc on the front of the car, and can not reverse the drawing in the later stage. The workload is large, the efficiency is low and the accuracy is not high, and it does not meet the customer's requirements.

Holon solutions

In order to shorten the research and development cycle and reduce the cost of car modification, Hualang 3D proposes a solution based on the problems faced by customers: using a 3D scanner (HL-3DS+) to obtain 3D data of the car head. The three-dimensional scanner has the characteristics of large scanning format, simple operation, extremely fast scanning speed, high precision and stability. During the scanning process, the software automatically spliced the three-dimensional data through the marker points. In less than 45 minutes, the entire three-dimensional data of the Iveco front was completely acquired. Customers can import 3D data into UG, PROE and other software for on-the-go editing, which greatly improves the conversion efficiency of the RV. After the new product is completed, customers can also import the three-dimensional data of the product into 3D MAX for rendering for product display.
